Dr. Robin Parks to lead Department of Medicine initiative to strengthen basic-clinical research links

September 21, 2016

Dr. Robin Parks has been appointed as the new Director of PhD Research in the Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa. His responsibilities will include strengthening ties between PhD scientists and clinicians, increasing clinician-basic scientist collaborations, enhancing research productivity and enriching the resident/fellow and graduate training experience. According to Department Chief Dr. Phil Wells, “Dr. Parks has worked closely with his MD colleagues, particularly in uniting basic and clinical research efforts in neuromuscular disease in Ottawa. This past year, and in collaboration with Dr. Curtis Cooper, he successfully integrated both basic and clinical research into this year’s Resident Research Day.” See Dr. Wells’ full message for details.
