About Us

The Aging Innovation In Perioperative Medicine & Surgery (AIMS) Research Group is led by Dr. Daniel McIsaac from the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital. The AIMS research group officially formed in 2016 and has been developing and evolving ever since. The overarching goal of this research program is to improve postoperative outcomes for older adults with frailty. The AIMS research group strives to produce high quality clinical research and knowledge syntheses in the area of perioperative frailty research.

Mission

As an interdisciplinary research team with expertise in clinical research, knowledge syntheses and database research, AIMS seeks to produce new evidence-based research for how to improve care and outcomes for older adults with frailty through innovation, collaboration, patient engagement and integrated knowledge translation activities.
