| The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) is an Affiliated Research Institute of the University of Ottawa and the research arm of The Ottawa Hospital. The OHRI has grown rapidly to become one of the largest and most important hospital-based research institutes in Canada.
The candidate will provide statistical support to the Ottawa Methods Centre and scientists and Investigators at the OHRI for clinical research projects. This support will include developing study protocols, planning the analysis, completing the analysis, data preparation, interpreting data and preparation for oral presentations and written reports, and assisting with manuscript preparation for publication. Other activities may also be included, such as evaluating research protocols submitted to the Research Ethics Board or providing statistical advice to medical residents in the context of a journal club.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
• Masters degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or a related discipline
• 3-5 years experience in data analysis including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and multivariable regression analyses.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in epidemiologic research, preferably in a clinical context.
• Experience using SAS.
• Ability to discuss complex statistical issues in non-technical language with non-statisticians.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills required to coordinate multiple projects with various Investigators simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required. Bilingual a plus.
• Comfortable working independently, with experience working in a team environment.
Salary commensurate with experience.
