Board of Directors

April 1, 2001, the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) was formed by the merger of the research institutes of the former Ottawa Civic Hospital and Ottawa General Hospital. There had been a recognition for some time that the1998 merger of the two hospitals, followed by the merger of their foundations in 2000, provided an imperative for the ultimate merger of their research institutes. That move was recommended early in 2000 by an external advisory committee and supported by the Boards of Directors of the Ottawa Hospital, the Loeb Health Research Institute, and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Many of the distinguished members of these separate boards have graciously agreed to continue serving as members of the new Board of Directors for the OHRI. The new voluntary board that governs the OHRI therefore consists of the following directors:
