
| The Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC) was created to conduct clinical research in the areas of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and traumatic injury. The ROC consists of ten Regional Clinical Centers (RCC) throughout the US and Canada, and a Data Coordinating Centre (DCC) in Seattle, Washington. Ottawa-OPALS in partnership with the Province of British Columbia make up one of the Canadian RCC's. The focus of the ROC is to conduct multiple collaborative trials to aid rapid translation of promising scientific and clinical advances to improve resuscitation outcomes. Trials may evaluate existing or new therapies such as pharmacologic immune modulators as well as clinical management strategies such as new resuscitation fluids, novel hemorrhage control strategies, the use of cerebral protection and neurologic preservation, metabolically directed therapies, and alternative methods of delivering CPR or defibrillation. The ROC Studies are sponsored by the NIH, The U.S. Dept. of Defense, CHIR, Canadian Defense Research and Development and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. | ![]() |
