Department of Medicine announces Clinician Scientist Chairs

Drs. Jonathan Angel and Dar Dowlatshahi were recently awarded the first Clinician Scientist Chair Awards from the Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital and University of Ottawa. Dr. Angel received the Senior Clinician Scientist Chair award of $1 million over five years, providing him with protected time to continue his research on innovative therapies for HIV. Dr. Dowlatshahi received the New Investigator Clinician Chair award of $750,000 over five years to pursue his study of stroke and cerebral hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain), and novel approaches for improving their diagnosis and treatment.
