Researchers at The Ottawa Hospital awarded $472,000 by Ontario Research Fund

Three researchers from The Ottawa Hospital affiliated with the University of Ottawa received grants from the Ontario Research Fund as part of a $3,784,890 investment in world-class research across the province.

They include:

Dr. Dar Dowlatshahi, Early Researcher Award, $140,000, “Evaluation of Blood Product Utilization, Healthcare Resource Consumption and Patient Outcomes in Novel Oral Anticoagulant-Related hemorrhage"

Dr. Sylvain Boet, Early Researcher Award, $140,000 ”“Improving care and outcomes for surgical patients through knowledge translation”


Dr. Dylan Burger, Ontario Research Fund – Research Infrastructure “Extracellular vesicles in vascular and renal health and disease”, “$192,000”

“Here at The Ottawa Hospital, the Ontario Research Fund has allowed us to develop promising new treatments for patients, increase the efficiency of our health-care system and start several companies. This new funding will continue to make our province healthier, wealthier and smarter”.
