Dr. Alexandre Tran, MD, MSc, FRCSC obtained his Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) and medical degree (MD) at McMaster University, followed by General Surgery residency at the University of Ottawa. He completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSc) and the Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship as part of the Surgeon Scientist/Clinician Investigator Program at the University of Ottawa. He then completed Fellowships in Adult Critical Care at the University of Ottawa followed by Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at the University of British Columbia.
He is an Associate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and started his appointment as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery in October 2024. He was awarded a Junior Clinical Research Chair in Trauma and Critical Care Research by the University of Ottawa. He provides clinical care for patients with traumatic injury or critical illness at the Ottawa Hospital.
