Dr. David Moher is a senior scientist, Methodological and Implementation Research program, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he directs the Centre for Journalology (publication science). Dr. Moher is also a full Professor, School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa. Dr. Moher holds an MSc in epidemiology and PhD in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics.
Over the last decade Dr. Moher has focused his research on several intersectional topics: open science, meta-science, responsible research assessment, manuscript peer review, and reproducibility. He is involved in the REPRISE program and is leading a program on the reproducibility of systematic review included in clinical practice guidelines. Dr. Moher is still deeply committed to developing optimal ways to conduct and report systematic reviews, reporting randomized trials, and other types of research. He spearheaded the initial development of CONSORT and PRISMA and was actively involved in their updates. Dr. Moher is a member of the PRISMATIC (PRISMA, Technology, and Implementation to enhance reporting Completeness) group, a program of research (Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Ideas Grant (GNT2019670) aimed at using novel methods to enable more efficient and effective translation of PRISMA reporting guidelines into practice. Dr. Moher is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
