Research Activities

I mainly have two research programs:
  • Implementation science / practice change in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine: the goal is to optimize evidence based best practice in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine.
  • Medical education / simulation: the goal is to improve long-term skill retention, in particular for unfrequent life-threatening situations.

Students opportunities:
 I welcome very motivated and dedicated students as well as Masters and PhD students to contact me at sboet@toh.ca for long-term (more than 1 year) research collaboration with my team.

- Position 1 for the project "Perioperative medicine and anesthesiology interventions that change patients’ outcomes: a systematic review of multicenter RCTs"


- Suitable for topic of thesis and/or research paper 
- Co-supervision of thesis by Drs. Boet and Brehaut 
- Duration of funding and project: 2 years 
- Preferably for Master’s student in first year 
- Salary according to the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute pay scale ($19,000 per year for 2 successive years)
- Possibility of first authorship position for the student as per international criteria

- Position 2 for the project "Knowledge translation interventions in perioperative medicine and anesthesiology: a systematic review of multicenter RCTs"
