Research Interests

My research interests involve the development of genetically engineered stem and progenitor cells as regenerative therapies for cardiopulmonary diseases. Insights into the pathogenesis of vascular diseases are gained from cellular and molecular studies in relevant animal models and from human tissues. Novel cellular and gene therapies are then developed to correct the key pathological mechanisms. Novel bioactive materials are also investigated to enhance homing, engraftment, and differentiation of relevant stem and progenitor cells.
