Associate Scientist, Clinical Epidemiology, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute

Biographical Sketch

Dr. Momoli has a masters from the Department of Psychiatry, McGill University, where he conducted behavioural and neuroscience research on animal models of Alzheimer’s disease. Shifting to the field of occupational and environmental cancer, he earned a doctorate from the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, McGill University, where his work focused on applying methods for large-scale screening analyses to a study of occupational exposures and lung cancer. During his post-doctoral fellowship at the McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk Assessment, at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Momoli worked on studies of lung cancer risk in relation to exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and risk of intracranial tumours in relation to the use of mobile phones. His research interests include statistical methods concerning confounder selection and applications that “smuggle” simplified Bayesian methods into epidemiology.

He joined the OHRI Methods Centre and the CHEO-RI Clinical Reseach Unit as a consulting epidemiologist in 2009.
