
Dr. Mark Walker is the founder of The OMNI
Research Group, and a perinatologist at The Ottawa Hospital and
an Assistant Professor with the University of Ottawa. He currently
holds a Career Scientist Award (five years) from the Ministry
of Health of Ontario. Dr. Walker's research training
was primarily at the University of Toronto in clinical epidemiology.
He is now principal investigator and co-investigator in numerous
peer reviewed grants from institutions such as Canadian
Institute of Health Research, The
Heart and Stroke Foundation, The
Physicians Services Incorporated and Canada
Foundation for Innovation. The majority of Dr. Walker's
research has involved clinical and epidemiologic studies. He
has 33 publications to date.
Dr. Shi Wu Wen a research scientist, began
collaborating with Dr. Walker early in 2001. Through their collaboration,
they quickly realized the similarity in their vision and the
opportunities for future studies and thus created a partnership.
This joint venture has since been Omni's success. Dr Wen holds
a Doctorate in Epidemiology and Statistics from McGill University.
His record in perinatal and reproductive health research is exceptional
as is his established network of research in this area. He has
67 peer-reviewed published papers, including publications in
the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of American
Medical Association. His publications have been cited more than
500 times. Dr. Wen is the recipient of a CIHR
New Investigators award for a 5 year term. |
