Jennifer Francis

Jennifer is a technology mentor, advisor and angel investor. Jennifer has extensive experience with innovation and startups as Chair of Capital Angel Network and co-founder and Director of SheBoot for women founders. She is a former executive in the information technology and services industry with IBM, Cognos and Watchfire. She has extensive experience in Analytics, Enterprise Software, SaaS, Go-to-market Strategy, Strategic Partnerships. Jennifer is a mentor with LSpark and has held board positions at Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, Invest Ottawa and MindTrust. She is an Ambassador for Technovation, a technology entrepreneurship program for girls ages 8 to 18. Jennifer holds a BMath from the University of Waterloo.




Q: Why do you volunteer on the Board of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute?
A: I am honoured to volunteer on the OHRI Board of Directors. We have world class researchers and are building world class facilities for researchers. I am passionate about the opportunity in front of us to improve health care in Canada. OHRI’s groundbreaking research and clinical trials are among the best in the country. In my work with startups in the life sciences, medical technology and digital health fields, it is clear that we have an exciting future with the commercialization of our world class research and partnerships with the innovation and startup sector to bring new treatments into the standard of care.
