About Us

Blueprint Translational Research Group

The Blueprint Translational Research Group was established in 2016 at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, in collaboration with the Ottawa Methods Centre.

Mission Statement

We are a preclinical to clinical research team based at the OHRI working to accelerate bench to bedside translation.

The Blueprint group is multidisciplinary with current interests in knowledge synthesis (i.e., systematic reviews and meta-analyses), patient engagement, and preclinical multicenter studies.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Statement

In the Blueprint Translational Research Group, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of our research pursuits. This includes a commitment to EDI in the culture and composition of our research team, as well as in the design, conduct and dissemination of our work. We firmly believe that prioritizing EDI in this way promotes innovative research and helps effectively address complex scientific challenges.

Our Commitment:

Equity: We are committed to providing opportunities for professional growth and success to all group members, in an equitable manner. In the studies we conduct, we seek to ensure equitable access to research opportunities, aiming to identify accommodations to overcome barriers to participation or collaboration, while also disseminating findings in open and accessible formats.

Diversity: We value and actively seek diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds among our group members, collaborators and participants, recognizing that these viewpoints enhance the quality of the research we conduct.

Inclusion: We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where every group member feels respected, valued, and supported. In this context, we strive for excellence in the studies we conduct through incorporation of a Sex- and Gender-Based Analysis Plus (SGBA+) approach where applicable, and the highest standards of experimental rigour to enhance the value of research outputs.

Accountability and continuous learning: We recognize that achieving equity, diversity, and inclusion is an ongoing process. We regularly assess our practices, policies, and culture to identify areas for improvement and support ongoing education and training for all team members.
