Parkinson Research Consortium
The Parkinson Research Consortium was set up in Ottawa with the goal to be an incubator for innovative ideas in Parkinson's disease research.
Since 2004, researchers and clinicians with diverse scientific talents and expertise in genetics, molecular biology, neuroscience and patient care have been working together at the Parkinson Research Consortium (PRC).
Our vision is to bring together a complimentary group of individuals whose purpose is to understand how the disease unfolds and to improve care, as well as treatment options for patients.
The PRC does that by promoting and encouraging synergistic interactions between scientists, clinicians, our young researchers of tomorrow and the community at large.
“In some way, all of the Board members of the PRC have been impacted by Parkinson’s disease. In my case, my much-loved mother passed away after a long battle with the disease in 2013. We may be many years away from a cure, but I know that the funding we provide helps initiate important therapies that allow those with Parkinson’s to live full active lives.
It is extraordinary the research that is being carried out by the scientific and clinicians working with the grants that are being provided. It is crucial that we continue to advance this work.”
