International symposium in Ottawa explores new technologies to help people move
October 2, 2011
More than 200 leading rehabilitation experts, biomedical engineers, clinicians and scientists from six countries gathered in Ottawa last weekend (and by video link from the Atlantic Provinces) for the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) Annual Symposium. The event, which was organized by
Dr. Edward Lemaire
(as President of ISPO Canada), featured the latest research in prosthetic and orthotic care, such as wearable robotics, virtual reality rehab, and motion analysis, and included a tour of The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre’s CAREN Virtual Reality Laboratory. See
symposium website
for details.
