August 5, 2009

The Stem Cell Network (SCN) is profiling Dr. Duncan Stewart, Dr. Michael Rudnicki and Dr. May Griffith at OHRI / uOttawa as part of a series on commercialization opportunities arising from Network-funded research. Dr. Stewart is working on gene-enhanced cell therapy for lung and cardiovascular disease, while Dr. Rudnicki is working on protein-based cell repair for diabetes and muscle degeneration and Dr. May Griffith is investigating a polymer cornea substitute to restore sight.

SCN includes more than 80 scientists, clinicians, engineers and social scientists with international reputations working closely together to bring rigor and innovation to Canadian stem cell research. SCN is a Network of Centres of Excellence, Canada's flagship science and technology program. It is led by Dr. Michael Rudnicki at OHRI / uOttawa.
