Job Description
The Oncology Clinical Trials program is seeking an experienced nurse to join a dedicated team responsible for administering chemotherapy and other study treatments at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Unit.

Education/Experience:
•Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN);
•Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO);
•Minimum of one (1) year of oncology experience;
•CNA Oncology Certification (CON(C));
•DeSouza Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy (DeSouza) or ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification is mandatory. Must be willing to maintain this certification and recertify if required.

Skills and Abilities
•Superior assessment skills and knowledge of interventions related to oncological symptom management and oncological emergencies;
•Knowledge of the nursing process as it relates to the oncology patient and the ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting;
•Commitment to personal continuing education activities and self-evaluation activities;
•Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines;
•Demonstrates competencies of the Specialized Oncology Nurse described by CANO;
•Excellent time management and organizational skills; Demonstrates the ability to assess patient and family learning needs and the ability to plan and provide appropriate teaching individually and in a group setting;
•Demonstrates ability and application of knowledge related to Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD), including care and maintenance;

Contract Details:
This is a part-time casual position – Shifts are up to 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday; variable hours weekly
Salary: Min: $45.197/hr- Max: $60.263/hr
