Drs. Zach Ferraro and Karen Fung Kee Fung recognized for outstanding mentoring of research student

April 28, 2015

Carleton University recently presented its Co-op Employer of the Year Award to Drs. Zach Ferraro and Karen Fung Kee Fung of the Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine. The award recognizes the outstanding Co-op research opportunity they provided to Rachael Page, a 3rd year biology student at Carleton. As noted by Ms. Page on Carleton’s website: “I didn’t really have any expectations about what I would get out of this experience but I now have three published papers, three published abstracts, I did a presentation I won an award for, and I got to see a c-section.” Ms. Page’s research focused on sonographic predictors of gastroschisis (a kind of fetal defect), twin pregnancies and obesity in obstetrics.
