Brief Biography

Dr. Kendzerska is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Respirology at the University of Ottawa, a clinical co-director and a sleep physician at the Ottawa Hospital Sleep Center, and a sleep physician at the West Ottawa Sleep Centre. She is also an Associate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and an adjunct scientist at ICES (formerly the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences), with a cross-appointment as an Associate Professor at the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa. She completed her PhD, clinical training in sleep medicine, and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto and obtained the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) Certificate as a Somnologist, Expert in Sleep Medicine in 2018. Since March 2017, as a faculty member at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Kendzerska has focused on the epidemiology of sleep-disordered breathing and its adverse health consequences, as well as the role of sleep disorders in modulating the health consequences of chronic diseases. In June 2025, she received a Tier 2 Clinical Research Chair Award (Chair in The Population Health Program in Sleep Medicine in Ontario).
