 You may be eligible for TIPPS if you meet all of the four criteria listed below:

1.   You are pregnant or planning to have a baby soon

2.   You have had any of the following pregnancy complications:

·   Recurrent miscarriages

·   Stillbirth

·   Pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure in pregnancy where protein leaks into the urine)

·   Very small birth weigh baby (called intrauterine growth restriction)

·   Bleeding in the placenta before delivery (called abruptio placenta)

·   Family history of blood clots in the legs or lungs

·   Personal history of phlebitis or blood clots in the legs or lungs

3.   You have a confirmed thrombophilia

·   Thrombophilias are a common group of disorders that lead to an increased tendency to develop blood clots

·   If you don't know whether you have a thrombophilia, your doctor can make arrangements to have you tested.

4.   You are 18 years of age or older
