The Biotherapeutics Manufacturing Centre (BMC) provides streamlined expert services and advanced technologies to evaluate, develop and manufacture innovative viral and cell-based therapeutics as well as antibody-based therapeutics for pre-clinical and human clinical trials.

BMC is part of The Ottawa Hospital, which is one of Canada’s largest research hospitals, affiliated with the University of Ottawa.

BMC currently holds contracts with several academic institutions and biotechnology companies and shares the goal of bringing their novel therapeutics to clinical trial and ultimately standard treatment. BMC has extensive experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for Canada, the Unites States and Europe, with numerous products in clinical trials.

BMC places a high value on client management. Our dedicated project managers are responsible for ensuring all client project milestones are met, and lines of communication are clear, and streamlined.

BMC has received support from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and many generous donors including the Mulcahy, Sprott and Sinclair families.
